The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Vinni Lettieri, defenceman Cole McWard, forward Henrik Rybinski, and goaltender Samuel Hlavaj.
The signings were announced by the hockey club, with Lettieri and Hlavaj signing one-year contracts, and McWard and Rybinski signing two-year contracts.
Lettieri, 31, had a successful season with the Toronto Marlies, recording 42 points in 55 games.
He also scored series-clinching goals in the Calder Cup Final and North Division Semifinals.
These signings come as the team looks to improve their standing, currently 15th in the Eastern Conference with a 32-36 record, on a L7 streak.
The team's next game is against the Montreal Canadiens on 2026-09-19.
McWard, 25, appeared in three games for the New York Islanders and 63 games for the Bridgeport Islanders last season.
He registered six goals and 21 assists in 63 games with Bridgeport.
The signings of Rybinski and Hlavaj add depth to the team's roster, with Rybinski recording 30 points in 59 games for the Hershey Bears last season.
Hlavaj, 25, split his season between the Iowa Wild and Iowa Heartlanders, compiling a 7-11-4 record alongside a .887 save percentage and 3.28 goals-against average.
And with these new signings, the Toronto Maple Leafs look to turn their season around and make a push for the playoffs.
But for now, the team remains focused on their upcoming game against the Montreal Canadiens.
So the question on everyone's mind is: can these new signings make a difference for the Toronto Maple Leafs?
The team's fans will be watching closely to see how these new players perform.
